Twelve Years of Shining,
One Joyful Day Together

We gathered for Zhou Shen's 12th debut anniversary—and filled a corner of Burnaby Central Park with food, handmade signs, familiar faces, new friends, and a great deal of affection.

We celebrated more than a date

This was a gathering primarily for Vancouver Shengmi members, brought together by Zhou Shen's 12th debut anniversary. The heart of the day was what happened between people: some arrived carrying food and decorations; others watched the grill, arranged the table, found chairs, took photos, or welcomed a first-time participant.

By lunchtime, the picnic looked unmistakably like us: colourful, handmade, a little busy, and full of care.

The table kept growing as everyone added another dish, another pair of hands, or another little bit of care.

Made together

Everyone brought something to the day

The grills were busy, the tables were crowded, and there was always someone checking the next tray of food. Around the cooking, conversations started and drifted from one group to another.

What made the gathering special was not a perfectly planned program. It was the easy way people stepped in: holding a plate, making room at the table, helping with a photo, sharing what they had brought, or greeting someone with a hug.

The decorations told the same story. Fans brought banners, handmade signs, dolls, keepsakes, and a cake marked “12 Years of Shining.” Each object carried a personal memory; together, they became a community celebration.

Why this memory matters

Because of one voice, many people found one another

Celebrating Zhou Shen brought us to the park, but friendship is what made the day worth keeping. Over food and conversation, fans became neighbours, familiar names became real faces, and new arrivals found a place in the group.

Twelve years of music gave us a beautiful reason to look back. This picnic also reminded us to notice what has grown here in Vancouver: a community that can cook, laugh, create, help, and celebrate together.

Thank you to everyone who brought food, supplies, decorations, energy, and an open heart.
